The Mn dossier has been updated mainly due to changes in uses and use pattern. New information regarding uses and exposure were obtained from registrants who respondedn to the Exposure questionnaire.
Below is a list of exposure scenarios which the updated dossier now covers.
Exposure scenario 1: Manufacture - Manufacture of FeMn and SiMn from imported manganese ore
Exposure scenario 2: Formulation or re-packing - Industrial production of other metal articles – bulk
Exposure scenario 3: Formulation or re-packing - Industrial production of metal articles – small scale in specialist foundries
Exposure scenario 4: Use at industrial sites - Industrial production of steel – bulk
Exposure scenario 5: Use at industrial sites - Industrial production of other metal articles - bulk
Exposure scenario 6: Use at industrial sites - Industrial production of metal articles - small scale in specialist foundries
Exposure scenario 7: Use at industrial sites - Industrial use in battery production
Exposure scenario 8: Use at industrial sites - Use in the production of manganese sulphide
Exposure scenario 9: Service life (worker at industrial site) - Service life of metal articles
Exposure scenario 10: Service life (professional worker) - Service life of metal articles (professional)
Exposure scenario 11: Service life (consumers) - Service life of metal articles (consumers)
Exposure scenario 12: Service life (professional worker) - Service life of batteries by professional workers

The chemical safety report that assesses safe use has not identified any of the above uses as a use advised against. This CSR has been submitted jointly, however, it is available to all co-registrants upon request. An Exposure scenario necessary for the production of eSDS is also available at reach@manganese.org
