Manganese Oxide EC 215-695-8: Dossier Successfully Updated
The submitted dossier was accepted by the ECHA in April 2025. The List below is a brief outline of the sections updated within the dossier.
- General overall update of all sections to improve the consistency of information reporting alongside IUCLID Validation checks
- GHS section – updated to align with GHS Rev10
- Endpoint summaries on aspects highlighted in the ERN report have been substantiated so that overall conclusions are more clearly reported.
- Where new summary documents on an endpoint are available (such as the new Neurotoxicity Expert Report, Reproductive toxicity (PND Rabbit study)
- Re-calculation of the chronic environmental reference value (for use in environmental hazard classification of the consortium registered substances) following the species sensitivity distribution (SSD) approach was successfully completed.
- Set ED classification with appropriate justification
- Update of Readacross report
- Review and report Genetic toxicity endpoint for better clarity
- Update CSR
Addressing the above has involved a considerable amount of work not only in the input of new information but also in the consistency of reporting across the substance itself its readacross counterpart. Waivers, needed to be reviewed and strengthen to eliminate ambiguity.
To conclude, the submitted and accepted dossier is aligns more with the updated guidance documents from ECHA, addresses concerns raised in the ARN & RRM reports and incorporates issues around the new hazard classes. MnO remains unclassified.
